I paint abstractions and landscapes full of colour and rich imagery. My inspiration is my home of San Miguel de Allende and the amazing range of flowers and plants we can grow here in this mountainous colonial city. In my personal garden I have a bounty of flowers that surround my studio. I paint them and that of our colonial buildings, the people and the rich countryside that surrounds us. This painting is inspired by my walks in the campo. I painted the mountains and other imagery using oil paint, applied in layers to create a thick texture. A brush and then knife were used. The surrounding flowers and greenery adds to the imagery. Edges of the painting are painted black and the painting is wired for hanging.
